Dear Parents and Carers
OLOL has been advised that a student who was on site on Thursday 25th November has tested positive for coronavirus.
Following advice from Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS), while the school undertakes the necessary contact tracing, no school family is to attend the parish Sunday morning 11:15 am Mass. Our ‘Welcome to Prep 2022 Mass’ will not be proceeding.
As a precaution, anyone who was on the school site on Thursday 25th November 2021 should limit their movements while contact identification is underway.
If we do not contact you on Sunday to say your child has been identified as a close contact, your child should return to school on Monday.
If we inform you that your child has been identified as a contact, your child will need to undergo a PCR test and quarantine until a negative result is received.
The rest of your family does not need to limit their movement at this stage.
If you or anyone in your family develop even the mildest of symptoms, please get tested. If you need to get tested, please check coronavirus.vic.gov.au for up-to-date information about waiting times at testing sites across the state.
I understand this news will be concerning for many of you. I want to assure you we are doing everything we can to contain and slow the spread of the virus and ensure the health and safety of our whole school community.
Please be aware that we cannot provide information about the person who has tested positive for COVID-19 and I ask that that you respect their privacy.
We will continue to keep you informed as further updates become available.
More information regarding coronavirus and schools is available at coronavirus.vic.gov.au.
Yours sincerely,
Francine Walsh
