Throughout each year, we pause to listen to our students, families and staff to gauge how our learning community is travelling. This feedback is invaluable to our progress as effective school communities and is backed by evidence-based research and best practices.
One of the more important formal ways we engage and gather data is through CEMSIS, the Catholic Education Melbourne School Improvement Surveys.
Our community’s opinions are critical to understanding how our school is performing – CEMSIS is a key data source for guiding the ongoing work to improve our school.
All participation is invited, welcomed and 100% voluntary.
Anthony Dea (Sophie and Dominique Lie's father) very kindly took some photographs of the production. They can be accessed and downloaded via the link below for one week only.

Term 3 ends tomorrow at 1pm following Footy Fun Day.
Term 4 begins on
Monday 7th October.
Footy Fun Day is on tomorrow, Friday 20th September (last day of term 3). Students are invited to dress up in their football team colours. This can be either AFL, NRL, Rugby or Soccer or your favourite sports team. The idea is to celebrate the football finals, sports generally and have a bit of fun by supporting your team at school.
Parents are welcome to join us throughout the morning.

While on the subject of uniform – as it is the end of the term, could we please ask everyone to check their child’s uniform to ensure that all of the articles they are wearing (and any they may have in their bags) actually belong to them (in particular jumpers and jackets). Also, please ensure that all items of uniform are clearly marked with your child’s name.
Please remind your children that they need to be responsible for their own belongings!
Please remember that Term 4 means time to start wearing hats again on the playground. The school sun policy is “No Hat, Shaded Area”. Please ensure that your child comes to school wearing their hat each day! Please also ensure that your child’s hat has their name clearly marked on it.
School Closure - Monday 2 December
The school will be closed on Monday 2 December. If you need to use Extend you will need to book.
The children's artwork will be displayed for everyone to enjoy next term on FRIDAY 25th OCTOBER. The evening will run from 6.00pm - 8.00pm. Family ticket price is $12.00, available ONLINE (a trybooking link will be sent out early next term). There will be drinks and food available to purchase on the evening. As is the tradition now each class will produce an artwork to be auctioned on the evening. The auction will take place at 7.10pm. The Art Show is a celebration of the childrens’ artwork from across the year. As always the money raised from the Art Show (which includes the door price of $12.00 a family) goes to support all the art initiatives in the school. It even helps subsidise the concert! We appreciate your support of the high-quality Art projects that take place at OLOL.
We thank our P and F for hosting the event and look forward to seeing all our families at this special evening.
As this is the final newsletter for Term 3, I would like to thank our wonderful staff for another sensational term’s work and the students for their happiness, talent, interest in learning and enthusiasm.
The concert was an extraordinary success and from the feedback, I've received apparently 'The best yet'. Ruth McGurk obviously needs a very special thank you but so too all the staff who after an extraordinarily heavy week topped it off on Friday night by packing the entire production away and bringing it back to OLOL. Thank you to the very best staff in the Southern Region.
And, last but not least, my thanks to you the parents: for your continued cooperation, assistance and positive energy.
And finally ... its been a big term by way of advancements in the way we communicate. Please continue to read the fortnightly newsletter and keep your eye on SZaap. Term Four will be busy but we're trying our very best to be good communicators with lots of accurate timely information available.
Wishing you all a safe, happy, relaxing break! We look forward to seeing you back for Term 4 on Monday 7th October.
