Impact of Stage Four Restrictions on OLOL
Dear Families,
The following information in regards to the new stage four measures has come straight from the government and CECV. We are waiting for further clarification which I believe will be announced today.
The criteria for students that can attend on-site has changed as has the terminology around it:
The government is now speaking of ‘permitted’ workers and the term ‘essential’ workers has not been used. We are waiting to see what the definitions of ‘permitted workers’ are.
The changes to school operations will come into effect from Wednesday 5 August (timeline outlined below) and are likely to apply until the end of Term 3.
- children whose parents are permitted workers. The Victorian Government will provide further advice about this over the coming days
- vulnerable children in out of home care, children known to child protection and other agencies and children the school identifies as vulnerable
- children with a disability who also fit one of the above two categories.
Timeline
- Monday 3 August will be a ‘normal’ day of school under current arrangements, with students attending on-site asked to take all their necessary learning materials home.
- Tuesday 4 August will be a student-free day across Victoria to enable teachers.
- Wednesday 5 August will be the first day of new arrangements for schools across Victoria.
Our teachers in F, 1, 2 and 3 are already creating new packs to support the online learning - I will let you know when these can be picked up as soon as we have an estimated time of readiness.
Hopefully these new extreme measures will provide us with the outcomes needed to have an onsite term in term four and a happy social Christmas and summer break.
As mentioned in last week’s newsletter - SZapp the school app is our main stream of information dissemination and we rely on parents to regularly check for updates.
As ever thank you for your support,
Francine
