Dear Parents,
Another term over another autumn upon us. I always find autumn quite a reflective time and when I reflect on this term I am just overwhelmingly grateful.
It's the first time in what seems like a very long time that we have all experienced a 'normal' school term. A term full of events and adventure but a term full of fun.
Our Eggspo was an amazing success and thank you to everyone who was able to come in and see the cumulative spectacle of over a hundred sensational eggs. The 'People's Choice' method of voting for a winner was inspired because there were just too many wonderful eggs. We really needed 109 awards - they were all - in their own way - a winner.
Mr. McAlister will be on leave after the holidays as he and his wife are expecting a baby on ANZAC day. Under the new EBA partner leave allows the partner in a relationship four weeks' leave after the birth of a baby. So Mr. McAlister will be away from school until Week 5 of Term Two. We wish him and his wife Kristina all the very best for the birth of their second child and look forward to his return. In his absence, Miss Archer will be Acting-Deputy and Aoife Harrington will take Year Two.
Other than that I wish you a safe and happy holiday.
Thank you for your continued support,
Francine
We FINALLY have provided our Deputy with an office space. In the later part of this term, we refurbished a dark storage/server room into a bright space for our marvellous Deputy Mr. Mac.
The Deputy's role is multifaceted and demanding, requiring a space that offers privacy, confidentiality, and uninterrupted focus. Unfortunately, Mr. Mac (and his predecessor, Mr. Todd) has had to work from our bustling staff room, where chatter and disruptions are constant - as they should be. To address this issue, we have converted a small area adjacent to the staff room into a dedicated workspace that is both modern and functional, providing Mr. Mac and all future deputies with an appropriate and optimal environment for their work.
Feel free to peek down the office foyer and you can see it!
Mothers Day - Well Deserved Evening Out
Our Parent Reps have generously organised an 'OLOL Mothers Day Celebration'.
It would be wonderful if every mother, stepmother grand mother, and female partner could celebrate together.
Details are:
NEPTUNE BAR 212 High St
Thursday 11 May
More information and Trybooking RSVP in the link - please come!
Term Two and Three are traditionally the terms when we wear winter uniform, however because the weather is so patchy we usually give the students a two week ‘grace’ period before the winter uniform rule comes in firmly. Term 2 commences on Wednesday 26th April. All students to be in winter uniform by Monday 8th May.
The winter uniform consists of :
Boys
- Long sleeve blue shirt with logo
- Long navy pants or Navy Shorts
- Navy socks / Knee length navy socks with shorts
- Navy wool school jumper
Girls
- Long sleeve blue shirt with logo
- Winter tunic
- Navy tights or knee length navy socks
- Navy wool school jumper
Advancedlife Photography School Photographs
We have had notification from Advancedlife Photography this morning that the school photographs will be delivered at the beginning of next term.
Congratulations Louis and Liam!
If you are intending for your child to participate in either Lego, Chess or Coding Club in Term 2 please register before the beginning of Term 2. Some of these clubs are subject to numbers and if they do not have enough enrolments at the commencement of the term they will not go ahead.
