Dear Parents,
What an exceptionally successful evening we had Saturday a fortnight ago, at our Winter Fundraising Night. Such a great turnout, loads of money raised, an 'entertaining' auctioneer, the most efficient silent auction process I have ever seen, fabulous venue, fun crowd, generous bidding, great donations, and lots of smiling people.
The money raised (which was over $20,000) is of course important but money does not create culture, relationships do. To see so many of you willing to arrange babysitters and brave the cold to support each other and your school was a happy sight indeed.
This was then followed up brilliantly by last weekend's Mass and the renaissance of the Whole School Mass and Morning Tea. Again even though we were competing with grand finals and birthday parties we had hundreds attend and literally break bread together.
Thank you for the recent show of enthusiastic participation in the life of the school. I can't over-emphasise the importance of your involvement in the school. OLOL's success on every level, cultural, academic, spiritual, and financial (including enrolment) is dependent on enthusiastic parent involvement. Tomorrow we have a massive Fathers and Special People's Day celebration and then next week you're all invited to our senior school production of Pirates of Penzance. So still lots more opportunities to re-engage with a school that is dying for you to be engaged!
Next term we have the Art Show, an Election Sausage Sizzle, Term Four Whole School Mass and Morning Tea, Carols and Graduation evening, End of Year Disco, and lots lots more so a final thank you to everyone involved in getting us back on track.
Finally, on behalf of the whole community, I'd like to welcome ...

What a fantastic night we had at the OLOL Winter Fundraiser at the Prahran Hotel.
It was so lovely to see everyone together again – dressed up, smiling, reconnecting with old friends, and making new ones.
It’s events like these that remind us what a fantastic school community we have and how important it is we come together throughout the year, outside of the daily drop-offs and pick-ups.
A huge thanks to all that supported the P&F and OLOL in making this night possible – and especially to all who donated prizes and ‘bid big’ on the night! It feels like we all came away winners – not just our kids.
Lastly, a big thanks to Francine, Adrian and OLOL staff. It’s so wonderful that we get to enjoy your company too.
It’s (finally) Spring time, which means we’re just getting started; we are looking forward to celebrating with you all again in October for the Art Show.

Vet Procedure - Toorak Village Vet
We have one remaining prize from our Fund Raiser. This is a brilliant opportunity and we are happy to accept the highest bid made to the office by next Friday...
Your friendly Toorak Village Vet Clinic has kindly donated a $750 voucher to help with the cost of a vet procedure for your much loved family member. Their clinic is equipped with state of the art equipment and an array of visiting consultants so your pet can have the best quality diagnostics without leaving the clinic.
Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS)
Throughout each year, we pause to listen to our students, families and staff to gauge how our learning community is travelling. This feedback is invaluable to our progress as effective school communities.
In 2022, students, families and staff are invited to participate in MACSSIS via our secure and purpose-built online platform. You will have received an email on Tuesday inviting you to participate. This email contains the weblink and your personalised pin number. So far we have had 17.6% of families respond. In order for the results to be analysed effectively we need at least 30% of families to respond.
Access to the survey ends on Friday 16th September so we ask that you complete the survey before the end of Term 3.
Our community’s opinions are critical to understanding how our school is performing – MACSSIS is a key data source for guiding the ongoing work to improve our school.
If you would like more information, please contact the school.
Congratulations to Jagger who recently skied the slopes representing OLOL. Never before has OLOL had representation at this event and we are very proud.
Please complete the School Intentions Form for 2023 here before Friday 2nd September.
In this link you will find the School Intentions Form for 2023. It is essential for planning for next year that the school has up-to-date information. Please click on the link and fill in the very quick survey by Friday, 2nd September.
