Dear Parents and Carers,
Well for a start ...
It's rare that the newsletter falls on this saints day so I wish you a marvellous day and all the luck of the Irish!
Next week our Seniors head off to Queenscliff to camp and although there are lots of changes and permissions in place to make this happen during COVID times we are very grateful that they get to go away. This is a very active camp but we know with the renewed focus on fitness at our school our OLOL Seniors will ace it!
I am also out for most of next week - unfortunately not at Queenscliff with Years 5 and 6 but at the biannual conference for The Victorian Association of Catholic Primary School Principals. Due to COVID it is four years since we last met and so apart from the learning that we take away with us there is a great deal of story swapping and building of relationships. I am looking forward to this time with my colleagues and am so proud that despite the fact that Mr. McAlister will be with the Seniors for the last part of the week the school is left in the capable hands of Miss Archer and Mrs Gammilonghi.
Have a lovely weekend,
Francine
Oh Yes, the time has come for the 'funnest' raffle of the year!
For those of you new to the school, we have the greatest fundraiser EVER.
We ask each family to donate Easter Eggs, or Easter gifts of any description (Easter baskets and ribbons etc). The P&F combine all the donations into fancy Easter hampers and then …. you buy raffle tickets so that your children get the opportunity to win one of heaps of gorgeous, exciting, colourful, seasonal, fabulous Easter Prizes.
There will be tubs in each classroom in which to place your donations, or they can be dropped off in the foyer receptacles. Please remember all donations must be nut free.
Raffle tickets will be sent home in the coming weeks. All proceeds benefit the children of OLOL Primary School. Thank you for your generosity.
- Parents and Friends Committee.
It saddens us to share with you all the sad news of the passing of George Gabriel, Miss Angelique Gabriel's brother.
The school is arranging a prayer book that we will send to Miss Gabriel next week. If you would like to send a card to Miss Gabriel please drop it into the Office next week and we will ensure that she receives it.
We ask that you keep Miss Gabriel and the family in your prayers at this time.
As I previously mentioned, I have accidentally over-ordered our Open Day flyers and need your help to rectify the situation. It would be of great assistance to the school if families could pick up a pack and pop them somewhere local. I'm thinking cafes, hairdressers, dress shops, childminding centres, play places like Bounce, anywhere you go that are happy to take our flyers would be wonderful.
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated so if you are able to help please let the office know and we will send home a lovely lot of flyers with your child - or pop into the office and grab a pack.
Thank you so much.
Open Days and Prep Enrolments for 2023
Below are the dates of our Open Days for this year. As I have mentioned in previous newsletters we are very strategic with our marketing approach. However the best possible marketing strategy is happy OLOL parents telling people about our marvellous school. Please keep getting the word out there.
Open Day cards are available at the office for anyone who is willing to pass on information.
If you have not yet completed the forms below, we ask that you please do so as soon as possible.
Thank you!
Winter Uniform and Purchasing Opportunities
As always we are happy for you to use our online order forms to send them in with your card details on the back and we will send the required items home with your child.
