In this newsletter, we are including information on local cricket programs and a very opportune Net Set GO program. This will be running on Wednesday after school for Year 2's and 3's next year and again many more details to follow. Net Set GO is Australia’s official netball starter program for girls and boys aged 5 – 10. It’s a chance to learn the netball basics and get outside and make some friends. For a lot of kids, this is the first time they’ll pick up a netball or chuck on a bib. It’s a learning experience and a lot of fun! So if your child is in Year 2 or 3 next year please keep Wednesday after school free for this exciting program.
Many students already play team sports and we are happy to use our newsletter to promote whatever sporting club your child belongs to. Much more on all of that next year but it's a good opportunity to keep your ears and eyes open now for the sport/s your child might like to participate in next year.
Just one more change in this forever-changing landscape - we have decided to not charge for lunch at the Colour Fun Run. The school is unable to process cash anymore and the work involved with the office staff manually keying in 150 credit cards for a $10.00 lunch was overwhelming. Therefore we will 'shout' lunch which will consist of sausages in bread, fruit, and an icy pole.
Thank you so much to the 18 parents that have volunteered their time on Wednesday to make this a day of fun. After two years of cancelled events, two years of disappointments, two years of frankly very little to look forward to - Wednesday should be WONDERFUL!!!! - But we do need more people involved - not just to help out but to have HEAPS of FUN together!!!! Please sign up for something and be part of the fun! Sign up roster
There will be a final newsletter next week but there's a fair bit happening between now and then, so please read the following and enjoy our week!!!
Stay well
Francine
Tomorrow we will be hosting our annual Christmas Dress-up Day. The students are to come dressed in their Christmas colours. We will have a parade on the basketball court at 9:15 am, all parents are welcome to come onto the school grounds and join us for the festivities. We do ask that students bring in a gold coin to go to Food For Friends Christmas appeal.
Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat
Finally, we have our Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat available! Many thanks to Mrs McGurk along with a cast of thousands and a team of Directors and Producers. Please watch and enjoy.
To watch the video please click here.
Thank you to all the wonderful OLOL families who have raised a total of $25,707!!! Donations and prizes close Sunday 12th December at midnight. All students are to go onto their accounts and choose their prizes.
Families can combine their prize money if they would like to choose a better prize. This will need to be done manually on Monday so please do not choose a prize.
On the day students are to wear as much white as possible. Please ensure this is not your best dress - it will be coloured! You may like to send your child to school with goggles or glasses for eye protection.
Lunch will be provided - sausage sizzle, fruit, drink and icy pole.
We are just $1,500 from sliming Mr McSlime!
Question is... Who gets to slime Mr Mac?
The student who raised the most money will get to pour the slime
