OLOL PARENTS & FRIENDS DRINKS
Year 3 and 4 Candlebark Farm Camp
On Thursday the Year 3/4 students departed OLOL at 8am for their very first camp. The bus ride was a noisy one as all the students were very excited to spend one night away from home. On the first day, the students participated in Canoeing, Flying Fox and Low Ropes. In the afternoon, we celebrated Felix's birthday with a cake and sparkles. After dinner, the students got into groups and tested their general knowledge with Mr Podbury and Miss Archer's trivia. By 9 pm, the students were very tired and ready to get some much-needed rest.
The next morning as the sun began to rise, the sound of giggles and footsteps started across the camp. Miss Archer woke up, opened the door with arms stretched out to receive her morning coffee. I've never seen her look happier. The students were ready for another full day of fun activities - Frisbee Golf, Ga Ga Ball and Orienteering. Some students got front row seats to a couple of boxing kangaroos on top of the hill.
By 2 pm the students were exhausted and ready for the 90-minute journey back to school. The bus driver decided to take the scenic route through Woori Yalllock and Emerald along some lovely windy roads. The bus swayed from side to side through the bends. There were some white faces when the students and teachers hopped off the bus back at school.
Easter Dress Up and Raffle
Thursday 1st April
Thank you to all of our wonderful families who have donated anything and everthing Easter for our raffle. The tubs and baskets in reception are overflowing!
Raffle tickets will be sent next week. Remember that all proceeds benefit the children of OLOL Primary School, and once again, thank you for your generosity.
Each child will receive a book of tickets. There are 10 tickets per book. Each ticket costs $2.00 so essentially a book costs $20.00. It's best when the tickets are sold to people close to the family that way we have loads of prize winners within the context of the school. Again thank you for your generosity - there is MUCH excitement around the Easter Egg Raffle!

Also, don't forget that on Thursday 1st April we will celebrate the end of Term One with an Easter Dress Up and the drawing of the Easter Egg Raffle.
Students may dress up as anything Easter-related (a chick, bunny, Easter egg) or may decorate their own Easter bonnet. There will be an Easter Parade at 9:15 am, the link to this will be sent out on the morning.

I explained in the Newsletter of February 11th (in much more detail) that we are unable to run ‘a shop’ in the traditional sense where you rock up to a counter and someone serves you immediately, charges you and you walk out with your items.
What we do is provide you the ability to order your uniform requirements online and then during the day on either Thursday or Friday the order is filled (in between all the other roles) and sent home with your child. There is a uniform order sheet on our app and also on the webpage.
We also run a uniform shop on the day before school begins (this year it was on Thursday 28th January) in case you need to actually look at the sizes of the uniform. We offer many opportunities for the new prep parents to purchase uniforms during the orientation program so that they have their children with them to measure them.
We are also very happy to exchange an undamaged, unworn, label-attached item for a different size.
The next Uniform Shop will be before the end of the first term as the students will require winter uniforms for the following term.
Thursday 25th March (Week 9, Term 1) and
Thursday 22nd April (Term 2, Week 1).
Thank you as always for your support and understanding in this matter.
Term Two and Three are traditionally the terms when we wear winter uniform, however because the weather is so patchy we usually give the students a two week ‘grace’ period before the winter uniform rule comes in firmly. Term 2 commences on Tuesday 20th April. All students to be in winter uniform by Monday 31st April.
The winter uniform consists of :
Boys
- Long sleeve blue shirt with logo
- Long navy pants
- Navy socks
- Navy wool school jumper
Girls
- Long sleeve blue shirt with logo
- Winter tunic
- Navy tights or knee length navy socks
- Navy wool school jumper
Julie from Bricks 4 Kidz is coming to OLOL on Wednesday 17th March to give the children who are interested a demonstration/trial of Lego Club.
Please note that Julie has confirmed that the Lego Classes will cater to children aged 5-12 years.
Come and join us in helping make our school look more beautiful.
We will be having a meeting in 2/3J for 15 minutes at lunchtime on Monday 14th for all students who would like to participate.
School Closure Day - Monday 19th April 2021
Term 2 Begins - Tuesday 20th April 2021
