We are very excited to begin our Wellbeing Workshops program tomorrow!
Each activity is linked to one (or more!) of the GEM (Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness) themes of our Resilience Project Wellbeing curriculum. Please spend some time looking through the presentation and watching the videos with your children.
As mentioned during Monday's assembly, there are enough activities for children to complete 5 per day, so please participate in as many as is comfortable for your family. You may even like to complete some during the school holidays.
Please visit the Online Learning Hub here to view the presentation. I would recommend watching the videos on a computer rather than mobile phone for ease of loading.
The staff at OLOL thoroughly enjoyed creating these videos and would love to see what you get up to. Please send any photos you take to angelique.gabriel@olprahraneast.catholic.edu.au in one email per family so we can document what we are expecting to be a fun and engaging week of important learning.
Many Thanks,
Angelique Gabriel- Wellbeing Leader
Dear Parents,
We have in our community a parent, Kate Hely, who is running for the local council. The Hely's have long been associated with OLOL with Andrew Hely attending here as a child and now two and nearly three boys of their own enrolled. Their support of the school and its events is energetic and wholehearted. Kate in particular has been instrumental in raising the profile of OLOL at Brookville Kindergarten resulting in one of the best Brookville to OLOL prep enrolments ever for 2021.
The beauty of belonging to and participating in a community such as OLOL is the mutuality of friendship, trust, and support.
The elections are being held (by post) in October and the poor candidates have been stymied in how they can get their message out to the public. Therefore I had no hesitation in using this platform to enable Kate to address our families.
Thank you
Francine
Kate Hely - North Ward, Stonnington
I wanted to share with you that I am running for Council as an independent candidate in the upcoming Stonnington elections for North Ward (South Yarra, Toorak and Kooyong).
This is obviously a slightly insane thing to do while working and with kids at home over COVID - but I believe that 2020 has given us a historic opportunity to reimagine how we can live, work and play locally. As we spend more time near where we live, let’s make it an even better place to be!
You might already know that I have a passion for architecture and urban design (with a degree in architecture), culture, business and people (as a Strategy Director with a qualitative research background and an MBA) and a desire to help my community thrive (as a mum of three young boys, the current President of Brookville Kindergarten and a member of the Stonnington Toy Library Committee prior to that).
I would love to know more about what you feel we need to ensure our neighbourhoods thrive.
More information about my ideas and passions can be found on my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/
Kindest
Kate Hely

On Friday we will send out a final newsletter regarding how Term Four is looking at this stage. As always we work within the governmental and system guidelines, many of which are still being developed.
We do know that years F - 2 will be returning to onsite schooling from Monday 12 October.
During the holidays if there are changes or adaptations that impact the beginning of term four we will communicate this via the school app, SZapp.
