Dear OLOL families,
As we plan for the return of onsite learning in Term 4 there are a number of protocols that will be put in place to ensure the safety of staff, students and OLOL families.
School Cleaning
- All school facilities are cleaned each night.
- Staff and Students will wash hands regularly and use hand sanitiser.
- Students are to use their own drink bottles instead of drink taps
- Wipe down tables and chairs regularly throughout the day.
- Minimise the use of resources outside and in the classroom.
- Cleaning of the high touchpoints throughout the school during the day.
Pick Up and Drop Off
- Parents will not be allowed to enter school premises at the beginning of Term 4
- Parents will drop their child/ren off at the gate.
- Students will all have their temperature taken in the front foyer and then access their classrooms or the playground.
- All students are to enter via the Wynnstay Rd entrance at the beginning of the day. There is no access of a morning from the back entrance (A'beckett St)
- At the conclusion of each school day, students will be able to leave via the front (Wynnstay Rd) and back entrances (A'beckett St) to ensure we can maintain safe distance measures.
- Parents must move on once they have collected their child.
- Speedy pick up and drop off will be returning. To minimise stopping time, please have students ready with their bags before they jump out.
Semester 2 Reporting
- Semester 2 reports will be available for parents to view on the nForma Parent Portal at 4 pm on Friday 11th December (Week 10).
- In the case where a parent requests Parent-Teacher Interview, it will be conducted via Zoom in Week 11.
Return to Onsite Learning for Foundation to Year 2
- Foundation to Year 2 students will be returning to onsite learning on Monday 12th October.
- Government Protocols for returning to online learning states all students in Foundation to Year 2 are required to return to onsite learning.
- Consultation with your GP is required if you intend to keep your child at home.
Remote Learning for Year 3 - 6 Student
- Year 3 - 6 will continue to learn remotely until Friday 23rd of October (subject to government approval).
- OLOL Online Learning program will continue as per normal.
Student Absence
If your child shows any symptoms associated with COVID they must remain at home until the symptoms cease. The school should be notified of any illness students present with and it is recommended the student seeks medical advice from your GP.
Have a wonderful two week break and we are looking forward to having the students return to school in Term 4.
Below is a link to an optional survey from Catholic Education Melbourne which aims to help capture the learnings from the remote learning period.
The surveys are designed to be a quick capture of learnings while the experience is fresh, and are not designed to capture every aspect of schooling during the lockdown period. Your feedback will be valuable in learning from the experience and improving education outcomes.
Here is the link to the survey. It is expected the survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
Thank you for taking the time to contribute to our learnings as a school and education system.
As I mentioned in the last newsletter Kate Hely is running as an Independent candidate for Stonnington North Ward (South Yarra, Toorak and Kooyong). She is keen to know if there are families willing to put a poster up outside their homes.
They are 900x600 and below this is the draft design. If you are able to help Kate out please contact her via her email address katehelyforstonnington@gmail.com
Thank you.
