Transition to Flexible and Remote Learning for Term Two
Dear Parents,
As many of you would be aware, the Victorian State Government announced yesterday,
All students who can learn from home must learn from home from the commencement of Term Two.
This announcement also means that the majority of teaching staff will be working from home during Term Two.
The Victorian State Government has provided exceptions to the learning from home model to students in the following categories, so they can learn onsite if needed:
- Children whose parents cannot work from home and require supervision of their children at school
- A child who has been identified as vulnerable by the school
- A child who is in out-of-home care
- A child who is deemed by Child Protection and/or Family Services to be at risk.
We understand that for many families this is a very uncertain time. As you know, we take very seriously our continued commitment to the education of the students at OLOL. We have been planning for this possibility for some time and are ready for this new way of learning and teaching.
For the very few families who will have to have their child/children supervised at school, it is important that you understand what the government is asking the school to provide. Students who attend OLOL will be placed in mixed year level groups and be supervised by a staff member with social distancing measures in place. These students will be following the exact online curriculum as those at home
The government has advised us that attending school is the exception, not the rule. The expectation is that almost all children will remain at home. I do not expect many families at OLOL to require supervision of their children, however, to assist us to plan for the commencement of Term 2, we require parents who cannot work from home to complete THIS FORM. This will allow the school to have any arrangements in place by Wednesday 15th April. (The commencement of term Two) We ask that the survey is completed by no later Thursday 9 April 10.00am.
Once finalised I will contact the families requiring onsite supervision to inform them of these arrangements.
The teachers will be in touch regarding the commencement of Online Learning.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding in this matter as we work together to keep our community safe.
