Dear Parents,
I want to express my gratitude to all the parents who joined us for our first parent drinks evening last week. It was wonderful to see so many of you connecting over drinks and conversation, especially our new Prep parents. Attending these events is a fantastic way to build connections within our school community and I encourage all new parents to join us whenever possible. A big thank you to Steph Molloy and the P&F for organising the event.
On Monday, Holly, a past parent came to our school to take photos for our website and marketing materials. Your willingness to allow us to use photos of your children greatly assists us in showcasing our school. Your support is invaluable in our efforts to enhance our school's image.
Our annual Easter Raffle is underway, and we're seeking donations of chocolate, books or craft items to create hampers. We also need volunteers to help assemble the hampers. If you're able to assist, please let me know and I'll pass your details to our P&F president, Morag.
Tomorrow at 2:45 pm, we'll be celebrating the grand opening of our school library. I want to express my gratitude to Alchemy Construct and Odyssey Architecture for their hard work in completing the building. Special thanks to our school Literacy Captains and Leaders, as well as Mary and Irene, for their exceptional efforts in organising and sorting the books. We're excited to announce that students can start borrowing library books from Monday onwards.
Together, we can achieve great things. Thank you for your continued support and dedication.

To all of our existing families, if your child turns five by April 2025 and you intend for them to commence Prep at OLOL next year, we need you to complete an enrolment form as soon as possible. Please click HERE to complete our online enrolment form. If you have family and friends who are wanting to come to OLOL in 2025 or 2026 please forward the link to them.
For those of you new to the school, we have the greatest fundraiser EVER.
We ask each family to donate Easter Eggs, or Easter gifts of any description (Easter baskets, books, ribbons etc). A group of lovely parent volunteers will then combine all the donations into fancy Easter hampers and then …. you buy raffle tickets so that your children get the opportunity to win one of the heaps of fabulous Easter Prizes.
There will be tubs in each classroom in which to place your donations, or they can be dropped off in the foyer receptacles.
Raffle tickets will be sent home next week, so please check your child's bag for a white envelope. Additional tickets will be available from the office if you would like more. All proceeds benefit the children of OLOL Primary School. Thank you for your generosity.
Students can wear their sports uniform and house colours (red, green or gold) on the day. We would love to see all the students decked out head to toe in their house colours, so get out the face paint, ribbons, t-shirts, hats, shorts and sweatbands and dress them up to support their team! If a child is unsure of their house colour, please have them ask their classroom teacher.
As with all events, we will need assistance with both setup and marshalling. If you are able to assist with setup it will be from 8:30 am - 9:00 am and marshalls will be required from 9:30 am - 11:00 am. We will need to transport equipment to the park, so if you have a van/ute available, please let me know as that makes things a lot easier.
If you are able to assist, please complete the form - OLOL Cross Country Parent Helpers 2024.
Thank you!
Mr Podbury
The theme of Project Compassion 2024 is ‘For All Future Generations’ and reminds us that the good that we do today will extend and impact the lives of generations to come. It invites us to make the world a better place by working together now and finding long-term solutions to global issues. We encourage you to put your compassion into action this Lent through your prayer, fasting and almsgiving by supporting Project Compassion. Each child received a Project Compassion box for their donations last week. Please return all Project Compassion boxes to the school office by Friday 3rd May or alternatively you can donate online via the Caritas website at https://www.caritas.org.au/project-compassion/
OLOL Is Going Lunchbox Wrapper Free!
This year, we're asking parents to pack lunches without wrappers for students. To support our sustainability goals at OLOL, please avoid including any packaged items in lunch boxes. Let's keep our school environment clean and eco-friendly by opting for reusable containers. Thank you for helping with our new sustainability initiatives.
Dear Parents/Carers,
We are excited to begin preparations for our Sacramental Program for 2024.
If your child is in Years 3-6 please fill in the form here to share your intention on whether they will be making/receiving any of the sacraments. Once completed, more information on the preparation process will be shared.
Kind regards,
Renee Griffin
Sacramental Leader
Team OLOL Scoop the Pool at the Holt Swimming Carnival
Blue skies and sunshine greeted the swimmers for the annual Holt Swimming Carnival at Oakleigh Pool. Team OLOL had eight swimmers take to the water across individual and team events! It was a fantastic day with a combined 29 ribbons won and it is a reflection of the effort and dedication of the swimmers to their training!
Congratulations to the team on not only their results but also the way they conducted themselves with their teamwork and sportsmanship. They once again showed that OLOL sets the gold standard through their attitude and effort.
Everyone in the team qualified for the Beachside Swimming Competition which is held next week. We wish all the swimmers well as they represent themselves, OLOL and the Holt District.
Thank you to Mrs Stone, Belinda Grant and David Willmott for assisting on the day.

Terms Two and Three are traditionally the terms when we wear winter uniform, however because the weather is so changeable we usually give the students a two week ‘grace’ period before the winter uniform rule comes in firmly. Term 2 commences on Monday 15th April. All students are to be in winter uniform by Monday 29th April.
The winter uniform consists of :
Boys
- Long sleeve blue shirt with logo
- Long navy pants or Navy Shorts
- Navy socks / Knee length navy socks with shorts
- Navy wool school jumper
Girls
- Long sleeve blue shirt with logo
- Winter tunic
- Navy tights or knee length navy socks
- Navy wool school jumper
Our Woollen School Jumper, OLOL Beanie and Art Smock are the only items which are purchased on campus at OLOL. To order these items online please use SZapp and these orders will be filled on either a Thursday or Friday and placed into your child's bag.
