OLOL prides itself on its Student Leadership initiatives.
There are many varied aspects to the OLOL Student Leadership Program including attending The Young Leaders Conference, participating in our Buddy Program. Public Speaking and Campaigning, running the weekly assemblies for the school and leading Social Justice projects.
The students in the senior school play a very active role in the life of the school. All Year 6 students are voted into a leadership role and all Year 5 students are voted into a supportive deputy position. These leadership teams then lead the school, developing their ‘portfolio’ to the best of their abilities. Each team (mentored by a staff member) has an authentic voice in the decision-making and running of the school. They have the opportunity to speak to and collaborate with the different bodies associated with the school such as: the Education Board and its sub-committees, the Parents and Friends Association, Staff Meetings, Parent Forumsand Information Evenings.
